Secession: How far fetched?

We’ve been hearing more and more rumblings about the “secession” option now that the feds have more clearly demonstrated their contempt for states rights.

From Wikipedia:

Discussions and threats of secession have often surfaced in American politics, but only in the case of the Confederate States of America was secession actually declared. A 2008 Zogby International poll revealed that 22% of Americans believe that "any state or region has the right to peaceably secede and become an independent republic."[31][32] The United States Supreme Court ruled in Texas v. White, 74 U.S. 700 (1869), that while the union was "perpetual" and that secession ordinances were "absolutely null," membership nevertheless could be revoked "through revolution, or through consent of the States."[33][34]

The cited Zogby poll was taken in 2008.  Oh what a difference two years under a socialist, communist, Islamic-pandering president can make.  I would be surprised if that 22% hasn’t increased to beyond 50% at this point.

What issues and strong feelings would be most likely to trigger one or more states to secede from the union?  Here is my top five list of what would anger enough folks to go for it:

  1. If Obama is elected to a second term of office
  2. If over the next several years, the Federal government continues to shirk its illegal immigration enforcement responsibilities by doing a half-assed token job of it while prohibiting states, either legally, through wealth redistribution policies, or by force, from providing their own immigration enforcement.
  3. If tax policies (redistribution of wealth) becomes so onerous and counterproductive that we rediscover why the old Janice Joplin lyric “freedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose” makes a lot of sense.
  4. If the federal government makes opt-out provisions for unpopular federal programs like health care or cap and trade or “financial reform” nearly impossible or excessively oppressive.
  5. If the federal government continues to waste resources on building up Islamic nations at the expense of our allies while it continues to pander to Islamic interests in the US as if Islam really is the “religion of peace.”

Several comments across the web on this topic conclude that secession won’t happen because it would be “too difficult” or provide “too many hardships” or be “too expensive.”  Well, my dear “you have it way too easy” friends.  Just wait.  Secession could be seen as a breath of fresh air compared to the conditions the federal government is now creating that are likely to push a number of states over the edge.

I would love to see a cost-benefit analysis for several states showing what their citizens and businesses pay to the feds compared to what they get in return.  And then comparing that to what it would cost to go it alone or in alliance with several neighboring states.  What price freedom?  Maybe not as high as we fear.

Look at it from this perspective (from an anonymous source)…

When Obama wrote a book and said he was mentored as a youth by Frank, (Frank Marshall Davis) an avowed Communist, people said it didn't matter.

When it was discovered that his grandparents, were strong socialists who sent Obama's mother to a socialist school where she was introduced to Frank Marshall Davis.  He was later introduced to young Barrack Hussein Obama People said it didn't matter.

When people found out that Barrack Hussein Obama was enrolled as a Muslim child in school and his father and stepfather were both Muslims, people said it didn't matter.

When he surrounded himself in the White house with advisors who were pro-gun control, pro- abortion, pro-homosexual marriage and wanting to curtail freedom of speech to silence the opposition people said it didn't matter..

When it became known that George Soros, a multi-billionaire Marxist, spent a ton of money to get him elected, people said it didn't matter.

When he started appointing White House Czars that were radicals, revolutionaries, and even avowed Marxist/Communist, people said it didn't matter.

When he stood before the Nation and told us that his intentions were to "fundamentally transform this Nation" into something else, people said it didn't matter.

When it became known that he had trained ACORN workers in Chicago and served as an attorney for ACORN, people said it didn't matter.

When he appointed cabinet members and several advisors who were tax cheats and socialists, people said it didn't matter.

When he appointed a Science Czar, John Holdren, who believes in forced abortions, mass sterilizations and seizing babies from teen mothers, people said it didn't matter.

When he appointed Cass Sunstein as Regulatory Czar who believes in "Explicit Consent," harvesting human organs without family consent, and allowing animals to be represented in court, while banning all hunting, people said it didn't matter.

When he appointed Kevin Jennings, a homosexual, and organizer of a group called gay, lesbian, straight, education network as Safe School Czar and it became known that he had a history of bad advice to teenagers, people said it didn't matter.

When he appointed Mark Lloyd, as Diversity Czar, who believes in curtailing free speech; taking from one and giving to another to spread the wealth; who supports Hugo Chavez, people said it didn't matter.

When Valerie Jarrett was selected as Obama's Senior White House Advisor and she is an avowed Socialist, people said it didn't matter.

When Anita Dunn, White House Communications Director said Mao Tse Tung was her favorite philosopher- -and the person she turned to most for inspiration, people said it didn't matter.

When he appointed Carol Browner as Global Warming Czar, and her being a well known socialist working on Cap and trade as the nations largest tax, people said it doesn't matter.

When he appointed Van Jones, an ex-con and avowed Communist as Green Energy Czar, who since had to resign when this was made known, people said it didn't matter.

When Tom Daschle, Obama's pick for health and human services secretary could not be confirmed, because he was a tax cheat, people said it didn't matter..

When as President of the United States, he bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, people said it didn't matter.

When he traveled around the world criticizing America and never once talking of her greatness, people said it didn't matter.

When his actions concerning the Middle-East seemed to support the Palestinians over Israel , our long time ally, people said it doesn't matter.

When he took American tax dollars to  resettle thousands of Palestinians from Gaza to the United States, people said it doesn't matter.

When he upset the Europeans by removing plans for a missile defense system against the Russians, people said it doesn't matter.

When he played politics in Afghanistan by  not sending troops early-on when the Field Commanders said they were necessary to win, people said it didn't matter.

When he started spending us into a debt that was so big we could not pay it off, people said it didn't matter.

When he took a huge spending bill under the guise of stimulus and used it to pay off organizations, unions, and individuals that got him elected, people said it didn't matter.

When he took over insurance companies, car companies, banks, etc., people said it didn't matter.

When he took away student loans from the banks and put it through the government, people said it didn't matter.

When he designed plans to take over the health care system and put it under government control, people said it didn't matter.

When he claimed he was a Christian during the election and tapes were later made public that showed Obama speaking to a Muslim group and 'stating' that he was raised a Muslim; was educated as a Muslim; and that he is still a Muslim--people said it didn't matter.

When he set into motion a plan to take over the control of all energy in the United States through Cap and Trade, people said it didn't matter.

When he finally completed his transformation of America into a Socialist State, people finally woke up---but it was too late.

Add these up one by one and you get a phenomenal score that points to the fact that Barrack Hussein Obama is determined to turn America into a Marxist-Socialist society.

All of the items in the preceding paragraphs have been put into place.  All can be documented very easily.   Before you disavow this do an internet search. The last paragraph alone is not yet cast in stone.  You and I will write that paragraph. Will it read as above or will it be a more happy ending for most of America ?

Far too many facts support the President as a Socialist. If you seek the truth you will be richer for it.  Don't just belittle the opposition.  Search for the truth.  Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Constitutionalists, Libertarians all need to pull together or watch the demise of a free democratic society.  Pray for Americans to seek the truth and take action for it will keep us FREE.

Our biggest enemy is not China, Russia , North Korea , and Iran our biggest enemy is a contingent of politicians in Washington DC . The government will not help, so we need to do it ourselves.

Is secession all that unreasonable if this sell-out continues?

Augusta State bigots demean Christian psych student

Jen Keeton, a 24 year old psych major at Augusta State University in Georgia was given the choice of participating in homosexual activities or being expelled from the graduate program.

Jen had the audacity to tell her trusted mentors that homosexuality is a behavioral choice, not a "state of being" as a professor insisted.  As a consequence, faculty members felt she needed some “reeducation” to purge her intolerant and bigoted belief system into something more conventional.  The university demanded she develop her sensitivity and respect toward homosexuality by attending at least three diversity sensitivity training workshops, by reading 10 articles on homosexual lifestyles, and by attending "the Gay Pride Parade." Her mentors believe her opinions of the causes of these now normative behaviors must change for her to be able to effectively work with the gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender and queer populations.

And of course, being a Christian, Jen wasn’t prepared to accept that laundry list of decadent behaviors.  Feeling her graduate education and degree threatened, she appropriately filed suit against the University.

The problem with Augusta State, as with most Universities, is that they themselves need reeducation and sensitivity training on Christian morality.  They are being the God-forsaken bigots against Christians.  Hey, tenured butt-heads, it works both ways.  You are just so immersed in your anal amorality you haven’t seen the light.

A lesson for Christianity from Islam and Pravda…

Back in the 80’s when I formally confirmed my Christian faith I had difficulty understanding why the practice of Christianity was restricted to the church and our personal lives.  I wondered why it appeared to be a “given” that the practice of Christianity need not, and in many cases shall not, extend to our work place, business practice, or especially politics and government.  And I had the advantage of belonging to a politically outspoken church at the time.

It is almost as if official church doctrine has declared that Christianity is a private, personal belief system that will “save us” while the other 90% of our lives is permitted or encouraged to do whatever society requires us to do to lead the life we desire.

Over the decades I have read about limitations on religious freedoms and related persecutions in various nations, especially those under Communist rule in China and Russia.  During various periods the only way the citizens of such nations could practice their Christian faith was privately, in underground churches.  They dared not let their religion be known at work or attempt to allow their faith to influence their government.  It has recently dawned on me that we in this nation over the last several decades have gradually accepted a suppressed influence of Christianity to nearly the same level as exists in Communist regimes.  We have retreated into a self-imposed Christian exile.

It has become manifestly clear after attending a number of local churches and listening to their sermons that Christianity is locked in the first century and confined to a personal faith.  Churches dare not expose their influence in a public forum or government venue – we know our place.  Don’t forget, here in the US we believe that separation of church and state is more important than the Gospel.

The Islamic ideology that I often rail against has a lesson for Christianity.  Just as an evil person may have some good qualities, an evil religion may have good qualities as well.  I have identified a couple of good qualities of Islam.  One is the devoutness of many – their dedicated prayer life.  The other is the extension of their Islamic beliefs and practice to every aspect of their lives: economic, social, government, military, as well as personal.

Christianity in our nation has over time been pushed off into private corners of our lives.  Cultural diversity has become the new “faith in America.”  The loser?  Christian influence.  Christian influence in government, the marketplace, the business world, has been substantially eliminated. And the churches and the pastors have apparently gone along with it because I have discovered that pastors who still teach a relevant Christianity in our lives and governance in our nation are exceedingly rare.  I can’t find one within 10 miles of my community where there are dozens of churches.

Think for a moment which belief system or ideology is most likely to achieve ascendency:  One that is confined to personal lives and which considers it inappropriate to influence our government and politics, or one which encourages and commands its adherents to influence every aspect of their lives, work, and government on behalf of their beliefs?  Now consider the growing influence of Islam in our nation and the waning influence of Christianity.  What do you think might account for these trends?

Amoralists and multi-culti’s of our nation have argued their way to achieving Christianity’s neutered status.  And Christians have obliged.  It is not as if Christian Scripture and historic teaching requires this status.  To the contrary it does not.  In fact it teaches the opposite.  I am no theologian, so I’m not going to devote space here to point out the numerous historic Christian teachings on this point.  The fact is that Christianity has been talked into becoming a private, passive belief system in the US.  The fate of private, passive belief systems is persecution, extermination, and extinction.  This is what Christianity can expect as it continues on its present course.

Obama lenin

Obama and Lenin:  We can’t blame Obama for the decline of Christianity and our slide toward Socialism and Marxism.  In fact, he is a product of the teaching of Marx and Lenin whose ideas had a strong foothold via the progressivism that influenced him in the previous century.

An article in Pravda, an English language Russian tabloid, noted that the US is outdoing mother Russia in its rush toward Marxism.  (No, not the cult following of Chico, Groucho, Harpo, Zeppo or Gummo.) The chilling irony is even Russians see the US has having surrendered its freedoms.  The liberalization and privatization of Christianity over the previous decades paved the way for this debacle.

American Capitalism Gone With A Whimper

Pravda, April 27, 2009

It must be said,  that like the breaking of a great dam, the  American descent into Marxism is happening with  breath-taking speed, against the backdrop of a  passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me, dear  reader, I meant people.
True, the  situation has been well prepared on and off for  the past century, especially the past twenty  years. The initial testing grounds was conducted  upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was.  But we Russians would not just roll over and  give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter  how much money Wall Street poured into the fists  of the Marxists.

Those lessons  were taken and used to properly prepare the  American populace for the surrender of their  freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites  and betters.
First, the population  was dumbed down through a politicized and  substandard education system based on pop  culture, rather than the classics. Americans  know more about their favorite TV dramas than  the drama in DC that directly affects their  lives. They care more for their "right" to choke  down a McDonalds burger or a Burger King burger  than for their constitutional rights. Then they  turn around and lecture us about our rights and  about our "democracy".  Pride blind the  foolish.

Then their faith in God  was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of  thousands of different "branches and  denominations" were for the most part little  more than Sunday circuses and their  televangelists and top protestant mega preachers  were more than happy to sell out their souls and  flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo  Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may  complain, but when explained that they would be  on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so  quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly  power.  Even our Holy Orthodox churches are  scandalously liberalized in America .

The final collapse has come with  the election of Barack Obama.  His speed in  the past three months has been truly impressive.   His spending and money printing has been a  record setting, not just in America 's short  history but in the world.  If this keeps up  for more than another year and there is no sign  that it will not, America at best will resemble  the Weimar Republic and at worst   Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been  the most breath-taking of all.  First came  the announcement of a planned redesign of the  American Byzantine tax system by the very  thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts,  losses, and swindles of hundreds of billions of  dollars.  These make our Russian oligarchs  look little more than ordinary street thugs, in  comparison.  Yes, the Americans have beat  our own thieves in the shear volumes.   Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an  elected panel but made up of appointees picked  from the very financial oligarchs and their  henchmen who are now gorging themselves on  trillions of American dollars, in one bailout  after another.  They are also usurping the  rights, duties, and powers of the American  congress (parliament).  Again, congress has  put up little more than a whimper to their  masters.

Then came Barack Obama's  command that GM ' s (General Motors) president  step down from leadership of his company.   That is correct, dear reader, in the land  of "pure" free markets, the American president  now has the power, the self-given power, to fire  CEOs and we can assume other employees of  private companies, at will.  Come hither,  go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that  the American president has followed this up with  a "bold" move of declaring that he and another  group of unelected, chosen stooges will now  redesign the entire automotive industry and will  even be the guarantee of automobile policies..   I am sure that if given the chance, they  would happily try and redesign it for the whole  of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less  than two months ago, warned Obama and UK ' s  Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it  only leads to disaster.  Apparently, even  though we suffered 70 years of this Western  sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as  foolish, drunken Russians, so let our "wise"  Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their  own pride.

Again, the American  public has taken this with barely a  whimper...but a "free man" whimper.
So, should it be any surprise to  discover that the Democratically controlled  Congress of America is working on passing a new  regulation that would give the American Treasury  department the power to set "fair" maximum  salaries, evaluate performance, and control how  private companies give out pay raises and  bonuses?  Senator Barney Frank, a social  pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course,  amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general  West, homosexuality is not only not a looked  down upon life choice, but is often praised as a  virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led  this effort.  He stresses that this only  affects companies that receive government  monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a  logical extreme, this would include any company  or industry that has ever received a tax break  or incentive.

The Russian owners  of American companies and industries should look  thoughtfully at this and the option of closing  their facilities down and fleeing the land of  the Red as fast as possible. In other words,  divest while there is still value left.

The proud American  will go down into his slavery without a fight,  beating his chest and proclaiming to the world  how free he really is.  The world will only  snicker.

Here is the original blog that was reproduced in Pravda.  The comments to that blog are of interest.

It appears that Christianity in America has already endorsed this detour.  How come Russians “get it” but our churches don’t?

Last resort: The church of Glenn Beck…

My quest to find a relevant Christian Church is now in week seven.  By “relevant” I mean a church that makes a strong connection between Biblical teaching and what is going on in the world today.

So far the Christian teaching that comes closest to meeting my “relevance” ideal is Glenn Beck.  Isn’t it a little ironic for orthodox Christians that Beck is a Mormon.  Perhaps orthodox churches have recently discovered something in their doctrine that prohibits relevance to current events.

The orthodox “reformed” church I attended today was easily the friendliest of the six churches I’ve tried thus far.  The pastor’s dad and several men of the church introduced themselves and offered coffee – something Glenn Beck would never do – with one kind act of inviting me to sit with them during the service, and the final kind act of inviting me to a church luncheon after the service.  But I digress.

The sermon was on 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.  The message from Paul was given to those who lived in Corinth, a large commercial center known for its moral corruption.  This is the setting for Paul expounding to the Church of Corinth how even the vilest among them were “washed, sanctified, and justified … by the Spirit of God.”

It was was well-presented sermon.  But…during that 20-minute presentation there was not one connection of the meaning of those passages to the circumstances and events of today.  I was anxiously waiting for the segue to a reference to one or more American cities, to one or more political ideologies, to one or more corporations to bring the relevance of these passages to our door step.  The opportunities lingered all around those verses to relate them to current events.  During the early anticipatory stages of the sermon I was considering when I would phone my wife to let her know I was invited to lunch at church and would be late.  By the end of the sermon, along with the realization that the sermon never extended beyond the year 65 AD, I admitted to myself I needed to forego the lunch so as not to mislead my hosts into assuming my continuing interest.

The “sermons” given by the early church were relevant to that day.  They were driven by the conditions that existed in their cities, in their culture, in their competing religions and ideologies.  They were given in the cities of Rome, Corinth, Ephesus, and Philippi. Almost 2,000 years later, the sermons given today expect us to remain in antiquity.  What is inexplicable to me is why sermons aren’t made as current today as they were back then.  Sure, the people back then had similar problems and challenges and if we try really hard, some of us might be able to relate to them.  But why not bring those problems and challenges up to date?  Is it too much work for pastors to be aware of current events?  Is there a fear of offending someone if we are critical of a real, current ideology, religion, organization, personal or public behavior?  Is it ok to slip in a Scriptural reference to “homosexual offenders” of 65 AD but somehow a bit politically incorrect to mention the “homosexual offenders” of 2010 AD?

Certainly other ideologies like Islam, Progressivism, and Socialism are as much an anathema to Christianity today as Pharisaical Judaism and Paganism were to Christians back in the day.   But these ideological challenges are not mentioned in sermons today.  Why not?  Is there a fear of the IRS coming down on them?  Is one of the major church benefactors a “don’t rock the boat” kind of guy?

This is what my “relevant church” hunting quest is telling me to do.  Besides Glenn Beck, look toward the Web.  There are various web sites where I find relevance of Scripture to current events.  Here are several of them:

Watchman Bible Study

The Hal Lindsey Report

Chuck Baldwin

Wall Builders

Political Islam

Charles Stanley

Dove World Outreach Center

David Manning

All of these ministries (and I’m sure there are many more that I’m not aware of) connect Biblical teaching with critical current events.  They are all political to some degree.  Some people may consider a couple of them to be excessively political or even mean spirited – at the fringes (or beyond) of appropriate Christianity.  But no more so than Jesus’ rant at the Temple toward the money changers.  Many are shocked when they first learn that Jesus would do such a thing.

To the contrary, contemporary preachers exhibit little righteous indignation at anything that is going on in the world today.  It almost appears that they all live in an 65 AD bubble.

Gulf well blowout update…

It is great to see that the “doom and gloomers” so far appear to be wrong.  (See several earlier doom and gloom scenarios here.)Apparently the well casing is intact and able to withstand at least 6,700 psi of pressure from that oil and gas-laden cavern.  Now if Obama can only get off his “destroy the American economy” high horse and open the Gulf to drilling again.  Don’t you think the oil industry has learned its lesson and will institute safeguards to assure this type of disaster will not occur again?

I’m becoming more and more convinced that the government adopts many laws and regulations as political eyewash, with little funding and less real intention to effectively implement or enforce them.  That has been the case with the oil and gas industry and that is the ongoing case with Federal immigration laws.  So, no, I don’t think it would be tremendously helpful for the Feds to adopt sweeping new regulations over off-shore drilling.  And national health care implementation will be even worse.

Doubting the relevance of the Islamic threat…

One visitor to our local Tea Party group expressed concern about a flyer titled “Islam Quick Facts” on one of the tables in the Tea Party meeting hall, one flyer among a dozen other flyers.  This particular flyer portrayed Islam as an ideology incompatible with our Judeo-Christian values; an ideology that many are ignorant about, is a real threat to our culture and way of life, and which requires our attention.

She was concerned that the flyer on the topic of Islam is a distraction from “the more important agenda of the Tea Party”; such things as the national economy, socialism, and health care.  She was also sensitive to the potential criticism the Tea Party might receive for portraying Islam in a negative manner at this point in time prior to an important election.

While there are a variety of opinions about what our priorities need to be, some folks need to be reminded why the Islamic ideology deserves to be among our top priorities.

Here are several things about which this lady needs to be reminded:

We were attacked on September 11, 2001, in the name of Islam by Muslims from Muslim nations who have expressed a desire to destroy America.

Muslims around the world celebrated that attack.

We are fighting wars in two separate Islamic nations in part as a consequence of that attack.  We are expending thousands of lives of young men and women and billions of dollars in carrying out these wars as if the Islamic ideology has little or no part in what we are fighting.  We have only a vague, waffling idea of what constitutes “victory” in these wars.  At the same time we lack an adequate understanding of the historic, orthodox nature and goals of Islam that is supposedly behind our reason for being involved in these wars the first place.

Our nation acknowledges an ongoing threat of terrorism. All such attempts have been committed by Muslims in the name of Islam. We expend hundreds of millions of dollars on measures to monitor and prevent potential terrorist attacks.   Yet our government insists that such attacks have nothing to do with Islam.

There are enclaves in a number of American cities containing thousands of newly immigrated Muslims who are preferring not to assimilate, but instead insisting on imposing a separate Islamic legal system called Sharia law and who desire to subjugate non-Muslims to Islamic “morality.”

There is a well-documented historic, orthodox Islamic ideology that is resurgent after decades of relative inertness.  Historic, orthodox Islamic ideology is supremacist and intolerant, has expressed its hatred of Jews and Christians, and considers its highest priority the subjugation of nations of infidels and imposing the Islamic ideology across the globe.

There is abundant documentation that there are alliances between progressives, liberals, socialists, Communists and Muslims with a common purpose:  To undermine and destroy the culture, religions, economy, and constitutional government of this nation to make way for their versions of utopia.

The Islamic ideology promotes purposeful deceit in protecting and furthering the aims of Islam.  This includes deceit in revealing the motives and methods of their ideology which explains much of the ignorance of the media and general population of the nature of Islam.

Aren’t these things enough to raise our concerns about the Islamic threat to a high priority level?  If not, we are surely a people who have lost our way.  The Islamic threat is deserving of our concern right up there with our economy, socialism, and health care.

First we need to educate ourselves, then our Tea Parties and related organizations, and then our pastors, priests, and rabbis.  Armed with the truth about Islam, we need to assure our elected officials have an accurate understanding of the Islamic ideology and have a clear action plan to deal with the Islamic threat.

There will always be people who doubt this threat exists.  There will always be people who think that mentioning this threat is a “distraction” from more important priorities.  Ignorance of the threat does not diminish its reality and the need for our recognition and understanding of that threat.  If there are more important priorities, I am not aware of them.  Certainly the existential threat to our way of life promised by the majority leadership of the world’s Islamic leadership is worthy of our attention to a degree at least equal to our economic and health care challenges.

“Extremists”: A meaningless term for knowing thy enemy

“Know your enemy.”  That is the mantra of success in international conflict.  Our national leaders and media are continuing to fail us in helping us know our enemy.

I am so tired of hearing “an extremist attempted” this and “an extremist blew up” that and “an extremists declared” such and such.”  What useless verbiage!

“Extremist” doesn’t describe anything of value.  Is it an extremist Methodist, an extremist Democrat, an extremist dog catcher?

Catherine Herridge of FOX News, whom I generally respect, today reported a plot by “extremists” to transport an improvised explosive device from Kenya (the most likely place of Obama’s birth – just had to throw that in there) to New York City.  What kind of extremists were these:  Extremist Eagle Scouts?  Is Catherine getting politically hyper-sensitive on us now, too?

Muslims currently have the market cornered on IEDs.  There is a better than a 10,000 to 1 chance the extremists she referred to are Muslims.

Another word describing vile Muslim acts and intentions is “radical.”  A “radical Muslim” did this, and a “radical Muslim” did that.  Even the venerable Christian prophecy author John Hagee call Muslims who commit vile acts (from the perspective of Western Judeo-Christian morality) “radical Muslims.”  When are we going to wake up to the fact that such alleged “radical” Muslims are not radical at all.  They are just doing what their Islamic ideology has taught and promoted for centuries.  The “radical Muslim” is the “good” Muslim.  He is carrying out the teachings and methods promoted by their dear Muhammad.  A better word is “devout” Muslim.

And neither would I use the word “fundamentalist” to describe such Muslims as some will equate with “fundamentalist Christian.”  The “fundamentalist Christian” or “literalist” Christian is a recent aberration from historic orthodox Christian belief and practice.  A very small proportion of Christians and Christian leadership maintains “fundamentalist” beliefs.  And a nearly non-existent portion of these beliefs morph into violent acts.

On the other hand, the predominant, historic, orthodox  mainstream teaching of Islam, with equal parts taqiyya, is their teaching and practice of hatred and violence to achieve their goals.  Sure, they are “fundamentalists” in the sense of literal implementation of Muhammad's teaching and tactics.  But such is not at all comparable to the teaching and tactics of fundamentalist Christians.

Let’s get over the use of these useless modifiers, these useless obfuscating terms describing Muslims who implement their Islamic faith in unpleasant ways.  They are not “extremists.”  They are not “radical.”   They are Muslims.  That’s what they are supposed to do.

Obama “crystal clear” on identity of our enemy…

Here is a very troubling article that capsulizes the errors of our failure to identify the enemy in the wars we are fighting.

Obama’s team claims the enemy is not “terrorism” because that is merely a “tactic.”  It is not “terror” because that is merely a “state of mind.”  It is not Islam, because that is a “religion of peace.”  It is not “jihadists” because that is a “holy struggle.”

The only thing left is a virus from Mars.

Jihad is a “holy struggle” alright.  A holy struggle the meaning of which our administration is playing dumb about.  There are many more references in Islamic texts proclaiming Jihad, aka “holy struggle” to mean “by any means possible, including deceit, violence, and warfare” than the “inner holy struggle” that Islamic apologists parrot back to us.

Why do our government’s “Islamic experts” hide the truth of Islam?  Is it fear?  Is it wishful thinking?  Are they Islamic sympathizers who believe Islam is just like all other religions?  Or are they just dumb asses.  It is becoming obvious it is some of each of these.

Here is the fear part:

"Once you attach a religious thing, you're basically saying somehow or other this is caused by the religion," Mr. Korb said. "Most Muslims are not that way."

Oh no.  Of coarse not.

Yes, it is a “religious thing.”  Or more accurately, an “Islamic ideology” thing.  The sooner we admit to this, the sooner we will be successful and the more likely we will be to defend our own culture and constitutional government against it.  But I’m doubting our current leadership believes our culture and form of government are worth defending.

Here is the moral equivalency part:

He added, "If you put that term [Islamic terrorist] on there, it causes you more problems in the long run. You don't want to see this as a war on quote unquote the Muslim world. If I took a look at all the people, for example, who killed abortion doctors and I said they're Christian terrorists, or something like that, and they are all who have done that. That is their interpretation of the Bible. But most people are not. Some of these people will quote the Bible and say I had to go after this doctor because he's killing innocents."

Oh sure, Christianity is just as violent as Islam.  To put things into perspective, here is a list of the several terrorist acts per day committed in the name of Islam that have occurred in just the last two months.  And here is the “equivalency” Islamic defenders conjure up:  There have been 8 abortion staff killings in 20 years.  There is NO Christian doctrine that condones or encourages these acts.  Korb, the distorter, fails to recognized the differences between Islam and Christianity.  Killing (violent jihad) is ingrained in Islamic tradition and texts and is encouraged to further the Islamic ideology.  Muslims who believe otherwise represent a small minority of current Islamic thought.  In Christianity, such acts are condemned by virtually all church leaders and in Christian Scripture.

And here is the dumb ass part:

“After all, Islam, like so many faiths, is part of America.”

That view has been revealed to us only since Obama took office.

In defense of religion – with one exception…

I was raised Catholic and have at various times in my life experienced Baptist, Latter Day Saints (Mormon), Jehovah’s Witnesses, Presbyterian, Methodist, Lutheran, and Episcopal churches and Jewish synagogues.

Some are more orthodox than others.  But even the Catholic Church, the mother church of Christian orthodoxy, has its unorthodox fringe, both more liberal and more “ultra-orthodox”.  I can respect every one of these religions.  Even the ones that the failing mainline churches and rabidly narrow evangelical churches call “cults.”  Sometimes I especially respect those demeaned by the elitist Christians because they have their special positive strengths and undergo much persecution by other Christians.

When any of the adherents of Christian denominations become ultra-orthodox or really really devout, they don’t become violent.  Orthodoxy in the Jewish and Christian traditions breed introspection and pacifism, not supremacism, intolerance, and terrorism.

There is one one “religious” ideology I cannot respect, despite the politically correct demands of progressives for me to do so.  And that is Islam.  Islam: the fascist, supremacist, intolerant, deceit-laden ideology.

Christian churches have their heads stuck in deep dark places when they continue to devote their resources and energies bashing the Christian “cults” while pursuing “ecumenicalism” with Islam.  Or if not ecumenicalism, continuing to equate Allah with the Judeo-Christian God or making nice with their favorite local Imman to demonstrate their outreach and tolerance.  All of these actions reveal a gross ignorance of Islam.

Even the claim of “moderateness” by a small minority of Muslims in this country is suspect.  Here is an instructive symposium discussing the extent of “moderation” (defined in a variety of ways) of Muslims, featuring the following Islamic experts:

Timothy Furnish, a former U.S. Army Arabic interrogator, he is a consultant and author with a Ph.D. in Islamic History. He is currently working on a book on modern Muslim plans to resurrect the caliphate. His website, dedicated to Islamic eschatology, is

Tawfik Hamid, an Islamic thinker and reformer who is the author of Inside Jihad: Understanding and Confronting Radical Islam. A one-time Islamic extremist from Egypt, he was a member of Jemaah Islamiya, a terrorist Islamic organization, with Dr. Ayman Al-Zawahiri, who later became the second in command of al-Qaeda. He is currently a senior fellow and chairman of the study of Islamic radicalism at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies.

M. Zuhdi Jasser, M.D. is the President and Founder of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD). He claims he is a “devout Muslim” which is ironic and nonsensical given his moderate writings.  He is a nationally recognized expert in the contest of ideas against political Islam, American Islamist organizations, and the Muslim Brotherhood. He regularly briefs members of the House and Senate congressional anti-terror caucuses and has served as a guest lecturer on Islam to deploying officers at the Joint Forces Staff College.

Robert Spencer, a scholar of Islamic history, theology, and law and the director of Jihad Watch. He is the author of ten books, eleven monographs, and hundreds of articles about jihad and Islamic terrorism, including the New York Times Bestsellers The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades) and The Truth About Muhammad. He is coauthor (with Pamela Geller) of the forthcoming book The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration’s War on America (Simon and Schuster).

My conclusion after reading the narrative of this symposium is this:

Moderate Muslims, defined as those who have dismissed or are ignorant of the Medina portion of the Qur’an, comprise a small minority of Muslims in the world and in the US.  Most of these have little influence and are susceptible to easy conversion to aggressive, immoderate Islam given their concentration in Islamic nations abroad and Islamic ghettos in non-Islamic nations.  Those who are truly moderate and influential such as Dr. Jasser are hanging their “devoutness” on a very thin thread that is not supported by historic, orthodox Islam.  In fact, to call their religion “Islam” seems tenuous if not deceptive.

Until I have reason to believe otherwise, the only logical conclusion I can reach concerning highly educated Muslims who claim devoutness but exude moderation is that they are consciously paving the way toward Islamization of the nations in which they reside.  They are laying the foundation for Islamic credibility, hooking major numbers of the population to accept Islam, with the hidden intent to later introduce the real, abrogating, Medina Islam on their hosts.  That was Muhammad's method.  And that has been the Islamic method throughout history.  Some have called this the “Trojan horse” strategy.  Sorry, Dr. Jasser.  I am not convinced of your “devout” moderation.

Obama Gives Up on Border Enforcement

"Our borders are just too vast for us to be able to solve the problem only with fences and border patrols. It won't work" Obama said today in a speech promoting legalization of alien law breakers.

While our national unemployment rate hovers around 10% and showing signs of worsening, our President wishes to speed the path to amnesty for those who have illegally taken American jobs.

What an out of touch fool!

The sooner this nut-root is out of Washington and back to Chicago the better off this country will be.

Deepwater Horizon: Accident or Sabotage?

Update July 1, 2010 from Joe Angione’s “Conservatively Speaking” … 07/04/10

Simple logic reveals truth about Gulf oil spill. It’s time to bring some common sense into the debate about who should bear the greatest blame for the Deepwater Horizon disaster. Let’s start with some facts: This well site was the biggest hit in BP’s history, with a production and profit potential almost beyond belief. Oil experts say that, if not properly capped, it could continue to spurt oil at the current rate for years, maybe even a decade longer. Anyone who thinks BP’s top executives weren’t paying full attention to daily drilling operations, and supervising them with the greatest concern doesn’t know of the phenomenal uncertainty of oil exploration and its frightful expense. Even though BP was cited for safety violations before, only a gaggle of morons would have “cut corners” at this well site.

Whether Trans Oceanic, the company that was contracted to do the actual drilling, exercised the utmost care is not known. But the incident surely didn’t occur because proper safety regulations weren’t in place. None of the other 30,000 wells drilled since oil production first began in the Gulf have suffered such a disaster. During hurricane Katrina, more than 120 drilling rigs were toppled in the Gulf and yet not a drop of oil reached coastal beaches and wetlands.

Drilling management errors and worker carelessness may have contributed to Deepwater Horizon’s failure, but only a thorough investigation will tell for sure.

What isn’t being seriously explored, at least not yet, is the possible role of purposeful “foot dragging,” including White House rejection of foreign clean-up assistance, in the terribly slow response to the disaster.

Columnist David Limbaugh, has written of the close ties between the manufacturers of the dispersant chemicals used in the clean-up process and friends of the Obama administration. The chemicals are very expensive, toxic to fish and animals, and have been banned in other parts of the world. Yet, the more the well gushes oil, the more of these dispersants are employed. So far their use, in the hundreds of thousands of gallons, has been highly profitable for producers and, possibly, for their friends in Washington.

At least as bad, and probably worse, is the possibility that sabotage played the leading role in the massive oil leak. If environmental extremists wanted to destroy the future of all off-shore oil drilling, the Deepwater Horizon would be the well to sabotage. It was no secret that this well would be a humongous producer and, if tampered with, a potentially monumental polluter.

No examination of this disaster can be complete without a special investigation into those on the oil rig who might have connections with radical environmental groups, and who might have been paid handsomely to spring the leak. Such an investigation might find criminal associations between “green freaks” in the Obama administration and those fanatics who believe in man-made global warming.

My original post:

Was the explosion, fire, and sinking of the Deepwater Horizon an accident compounded by insufficient safeguards or was it something more conspiratorial? There is some growing suspicion, that, given the nature of the Obama administration, this would be an event that serves his agenda well. Obama’s agenda:

  • Promote third world interests at the expense of the US.
  • Promote global environmentalism over energy independence.
  • Promote middle east Islamic interests over US interests
  • Weaken the US economy to strengthen centralized government, control, and power.

Some speculation revolves around environmental extremists trying to make a point. Others suggest a “black ops” mission sponsored by White House insiders. Among the several hundred workers on the platform, is it possible it could have been an “inside job?” Or was there a highly trained team of outsiders who might have triggered the event?

I am not a “conspiracy theorist” by any stretch. I do not believe 9-11 was an “inside job.” And I hate to even consider that people inside our government would plot such a thing. Obama is a different case, however. He has demonstrated his eagerness to undo America in so many ways on so many levels. “Audacity” in his remaking of America in his third-world image is an understatement. And I am not the only one thinking this.

Mr. Obama said SWAT teams were being dispatched to the Gulf to investigate oil rigs and said his administration is now working to determine the cause of the disaster. Huh? What do SWAT teams know about investigating oil rigs?

Here is some food for thought from another blogger…

Do They Suspect Sabotage?

Glenn Reynolds points out the odd behavior of law enforcement agencies in the growing Gulf oil spill disaster.

Mr. Obama said SWAT teams were being dispatched to the Gulf to investigate oil rigs and said his administration is now working to determine the cause of the disaster...

...Napolitano said the Homeland Security and Interior departments are conducting a joint investigation into what caused the explosion on the rig.

I understand that Homeland Security may have a valid role investigating the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion, especially if there are concerns that it may not have been an obvious accident and that sabotage needs to be ruled out.

But unless SWAT means something in some other context than paramilitary special weapons and tactics teams, I'm not understanding why these units are being deployed to oil rigs, when to the best of my knowledge, that is both well outside their normal jurisdiction, and presumably, beyond the average SWAT team's skill set.

Don't get me wrong... I'm not bad-mouthing SWAT officers, but how many of them have the kind of background to investigate oil rigs? The logical use of such teams on a rig would be to provide security and deter criminal actions, right?

So why does the President think that oil rigs need SWAT teams instead of engineers?

Burning Oil Rig

FOLKS…on 04-24-10AD…have any of you begun to wonder what might be afoot in terms of conspiracy to advance the NANNY STATE by whatever means? let me give you some ‘for instances’ and you conclude as you will:

1. OBAMACARE was up for a Senate Vote. ALL of a sudden there was the UNDERWEAR BOMBER.

2. There was bickering about Mexico and trade…open and free…and the UNIONS demanding OBAMA interrupt and direct in order to advance UNION GOALS. In a few weeks of that revelation of UNION demands…the Mexican Drug Wars began. AND oddly…the DRUG GANGS are blamed. The one aggregate of entrepreneurs who want absolutely NO PRESS…NO PUBLICITY…none….were picked upon whom to lay blame. However, the DRUG BOYS AND GIRLS would be the last collection of people to begin shooting and killing.

3. When there was steam building against the Environmental Protection Agency, (EPA), and public sentiments for the COAL INDUSTRY FIGHT were running high against the EPA…when such was beginning to tip in favor of unhampered markets free of red tape and taxes…there was a NEED for a COAL MINE DISASTER. And right on schedule…fitting to help OBAMA and his Hun-horde OF socialists and Eco-fascists…at a MASSEY MINE…in WEST VIRGINIA…a COAL MINE DISASTER arrived killing 25. HOW it occurred…nobody knows! Who was careless…nobody knows.

4. NOW…there was a need for domestic OIL drilling. OBAMA had given his conclusion that some domestic OIL drilling was good for everybody. There was a backlash…in the OBAMA corner…and…it was so bad…OBAMA needed a disaster in the OIL INDUSTRY. And right on schedule…BOOM…OIL RIG in Gulf on fire and nobody KNOWS HOW it happened. It was an OIL RIG the government had issued some ‘REPAIR AND REPLACE’ directives…just…as they had done at that specific MINE.

WHAT IF…what if…OBAMA has a BLACK OPS TEAM. Certainly BUSH refused to use it as brazenly as OBAMA. Yet…the stakes are too high now. Might it very well be that OBAMA has elected to deploy the BLACKS OPS TEAMS? OBAMA is trying to impose his NANNY STATE because the opposition is growing. He knows he must secure all entitlement programs and control over as much industry before November of 2010 and November of 2012. He knows the PEOPLE are becoming aware of the YOKE AND CHOKE AGENDA of OBAMA and his vermin Hun-horde in Congress and elsewhere.

The Obama-controlled MASS MEDIA is attempting to preach and teach that ’slavery is good….freedom is bad’. With such assistance by the MASS MEDIA 24/7, 365 OBAMA hopes this MANTRA will CHANGE the opinion of enough VOTERS so he can continue to RUIN America and set up his NANNY STATE with its control and directive from cradle to grave. By using the BLACK OPS TEAMS in the manner listed above…OBAMA has been able to deflect public scrutiny at crucial moments.

FOLKS…we are in a WAR ON FREEDOM. Obama is using BLACK OPS TEAMS to create havoc when needed… fear when useful…and strategic NOISE to distract and confuse. Please consider what might be afoot. Perhaps…you are as I was…refusing to accept the OBVIOUS conclusion because OBAMA has children and he could not possibly want their “future” in some stifling NANNY STATE instead of “a future” in an unhampered market breathing free.

BUT…the more I connected these DOTS…the more it became too much to hold back. I changed my mind about him. Maybe OBAMA really is: MARXIST ON MISSION! AND… as such… he simply doesn’t care about window dressing such as children…not to a MARXIST…the MISSION is all-important…sacrificing his children would be something a MARXIST dreams about doing. A MARXIST will cut his own mother’s throat to advance the interests of MASTER-STATE.

And check out this link to Rush Limbaugh’s discussion.

We are all suggesting that this disaster may not be a simple case of the failure of technology and inadequate safeguards (e.g. it is unwise to install aircraft-catching nets around tall buildings). There are a number of plausible reasons why it may have been purposefully triggered.
